CALIcon2021 Presenter Notes

THANK YOU for volunteering to be a speaker. The time and effort you put into your presentations is very much appreciated by cali and your colleagues.

• Your session should appear on the schedule (coming 5/14/2021). You should visit this page, find your session, verify the time your session is scheduled and click on it and make sure that all the information is correct. If there is no description, please create one. Please remember to include as much detail in the description as you can.
• We have over 200 people registered for the online conference. Since there is a single track this year it is likely that most of them will be tuned into your presentation. Please make sure that you access your session 10 minutes before the scheduled time to make sure you can connect. 
• This year's structure is the same as last year's. The main part of the conference consists of 7 one hour clusters of presentations. Each cluster has 3 15-minute presentations followed by 15 minutes for Q&A and discussion. You've been assigned to one of those 15 minute slots. You will present live or we will show your previously submitted video. You need to be available for a brief introduction of your session and at the Q&A segment. We will ask attendees to hold questions for the Q&A segment of the hour to give you the full time to present.
• We are using Zoom Webinar as the platform for this year's online conference. Zoom Webinar is different than the Zoom Meeting you may be used to. You will be invited as panelists for your session so that you can share your screen when it is your turn. The CALI staff will handle playing pre-recorded videos if you opt to do that.You will not be able to see the attendees beyond a count of how many are watching. Attendees will be able to use audio to ask questions during the Q&A segment. John Mayer will be the MC for the conference, making sure things run on time and introducing sessions. Members of the CALI staff will be online acting as producer, to monitor Q&A and chat, and tech support. As presenter you only need to show up and present.
• We will scheduled a bunch of presenter briefings on Tuesday, June 1 throughout the day. Briefings will last about 15 minutes and will introduce you to the Zoom Webinar platform. We highly recommend you sign-up for one using the link we'll share here.

• All of the conference sessions will be recorded and archived for later listening and viewing on the CALI website, CALI’s YouTube channel, and elsewhere at CALI’s discretion. Many, many people have told me how valuable they find this service. If you have any issues with this, let me know before the conference. Your agreement to speak at the conference includes your agreement to this recording and subsequent access after the conference, including CALI’s right to reproduce, publish, perform, display and distribute the recording of your session. Further, you grant to CALI the right to modify or create derivative works, including compilations and any edits to improve the quality of the recording. Your granting these rights to CALI will continue until it is terminated by mutual written agreement between you and CALI. Because CALI intends to post these conference sessions online, you affirm that your presentation is original and does not contain any audio or visual components owned by a third party. You further affirm that the presentation represents your original work, your co-presenters’ original work, or other attributed individuals. Your appearance as a presenter during CALI’s conference constitutes your acceptance and agreement to all terms in this paragraph.
